Summit County Ski Resorts Opening Days 2022

Winter is upon us with the first snow already gracing most of the peaks in and around Summit County, Colorado. Now is the time to get out your ski/snowboard gear, tune, wax, and prepare for the opening days across the 8 ski resorts within 45 minutes of Summit County. Below are the estimated or exact (depending on early snowfall and snowmaking operations) opening dates for these resorts.

Keystone Resort

Vail Resorts has announced that they are planning to open Keystone Ski Resort as early as possible in October. Some have rumored that they will open on October 22, 2022.

Arapahoe Basin

Known for having the longest ski/ride season in Colorado, Arapahoe Basin is slated to open on October 22, 2022. Passes/Lift Tickets are still available with a variety of options: Full Season Pass, Military Pass, Midweek Season Pass, Sunday-Only Pass, Fall Pass, Uphill Access Pass (no lift access), single-day lift tickets, and more.

Loveland Ski Area

With 1,800 acres of terrain and only 53 miles from Denver, Loveland Ski Area is planning to open on October 22, 2022. However, as we know from years past if we get early snow Loveland, A-Basin and Keystone will race to be the first to open, who will it be this year?

Breckenridge Ski Resort

Starting its 61st season the Breckenridge Ski Resort is expected to open on November 11, 2022. Typically they open Peak 8 first with access via the BreckConnect Gondola.

Vail Ski Resort

Vail Ski Area is also opening on the same day as Breckenridge on November 11, 2022. Did you know that Riva Ridge is Vail’s longest run at 4 miles!

Copper Mountain

Copper Mountain will be starting its 50th season on November 14, 2022. Be on the lookout for the opening day schedule as Copper Mountain is planning to start its 50th season with a bang!

Beaver Creek Resort

With a base elevation of 8,100 feet, Beaver Creek will open a bit later than its fellow ski resorts on November 23, 2022. Yearly the average snowfall is around 325 inches, maybe this year will be even more!

Ski Cooper

With a wide variety of terrain especially for beginners, Ski Cooper is a great option located just outside of Leadville. Ski Cooper is looking to open on December 7, 2022.
