After a long wait, Summit County has announced it will open a wait list to apply to be on the waitlist for permits in the Lower Blue and Upper Blue Basins for Type II STR permits.
At 8 AM on Tuesday, July 22nd at 8 am, you will want to go to the website page linked below to apply for the waitlist.

Type II STR License Waitlist Information
**The STR waitlist application form will open on Tuesday, July 22nd at 8am MT. Please come back to this page on that date if you wish to apply.**
Read carefully the following requirements below, as NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN:
Please view the Summit County Basin Map to determine where your property is located to see if you are eligible to apply for the waitlist. Lower Blue and Upper Blue Basins are circled and highlighted in YELLOW. If your property is not located within the highlighted yellow basin, you cannot apply to the waitlist.
Please read the following carefully, in order to ensure a correctly submitted application. Only property owners can apply for the waitlist. No outside parties (realtors, property managers, etc) can apply on behalf of owners.
If the property is currently under contract or has an open building permit; no application will be accepted until closing is finalized or a Certificate of Completion is issued by the Building Department.
There is a $75 non-refundable fee to apply. There are no exceptions so please ensure you apply correctly!
Only one application can be submitted for each property.
The STR license waitlist will be posted on this website for applicants to view their position in the queue. Applications will be reviewed and posted in a first come, first served order.
When a Type II STR license is available, you will be contacted via email and allowed 30 days to submit the STR license application. Failure to submit a new Type II STR license application within the 30 days will result in loss of position in waitlist queue and applicants will need to apply for a new position on the waitlist.
Placement on the waitlist does not guarantee an STR license
